Not enough days or minutes in days

Okay, so I keep pledging my devotion to posting and informing everyone...well it just is not as easy as some seem to make it look!! Of course, if I spent time posting instead of reading everyone else's blogs and forums...then maybe I would get it all done.

A few more things have arrived at the shoppe....some additional Imperial Broadcloth...now 60 wide...in Khaki, Bristish Tan, Rice, White and Baby Blue.

Also on the shelves: Classic Couture patterns by Vaune Pierce...Womens jacket and Girls Sundress/Jumper. Of course the Oliver and S patterns are up front in baskets...have to get some samples made!!

Recently ordered some more laces and some wonderful sheer Swiss Batiste fabric, 58 inches wide. I can't wait to play with it, I think it will replace voile in my double layers? I am anxious to see how it looks over my Swiss Satin Batiste. Of course, that is my problem...my head is full or ideas and plans...ha...will I ever apply myself...we can only hope...before I age too much...LOL

On the other side of the shoppe....I am preparing for SAGA convention in Atlanta. Less thana month away!! The shop will be closed for the 10 days I am gone. I/We leave Sunday the 12th after the MRV Antique Sunday. It is also the day after the MRV [Mill Race Village] Fall Festival!! The temporary replacement for Cirque de Lune. I forsee total exhaustion BEFORE I even get to convention.

Holly Berries meets this Wednesday..12:30 to 3:30pm at the shoppe..we will be working on Wee Care and also making our plans for the SAGA Workshop in Novemember with Barbara Meger. Look for more information soon. You have to be a SAGA member to participate in the workshop...it will be worth your joining...I promise.

My day with Claudia Newton was wonderful. I am also just about done with the darling little daygown we made. Photos coming!! and boy did I learn alot!! And did we ever pray our way home in the middle of Hanna...that was not the fun part. Why do trucks and SUV's think they can speed along in downpours with the roads flooded?? Me and my little Chevy puttered along and still I could feel the 'hydro' planing under my hands. But we are home safe...

Back to school things are keeping all busy I know. But don't forget...holiday sewing is starting...so stay tuned for new fabrics and ideas here!!

Rainy Days

Tomorrow, I travel to Delaware for a sewing class with a wonderful teacher, Claudia Newton. Of course it means I have to get up early...not my usual...and drive in the rain of 'Hanna'. The lesson is on a baby daygown, girl or boy. I look forward to seeing many of the SAGA ladies in Delaware. The shop will be open under the capable hands of my sister and my daughter. However, I don't expect that too many folks will be out looking for sewing things on a very nasty stormy day. I don't know...we shall see.

On another note, yesterday also saw the arrival of two more patterns....Vaune Pierce's Classic Couture. No photos yet, but they are lovely.

New Patterns

As I said before...now I am back to working forward with sewing related things!! Of course my lack of organization will be the end of me yet!!

ANYWAY: Today will be the arrival of a new pattern company: OLIVER + S company. I look forward to getting some samples done and even having a class or two using these patterns. Paper dolls are included....I have always loved paper dolls.

More later...I am home on my ailing laptop...

Day after Labor Day

September has arrived. It arrived with beautiful sun, warm, and no humidity. The days are getting shorter and that is what makes me saddened to see summer leaving. But I welcome back to school time and look forward to the coming fall and winter holidays.

I am still having 'issues' with my laptop which is where I prefer to work from. HOPE springs eternal that by Friday this week it will be better.

Today I am home with dear Jon my grandson, and instead of planning shop news, I am off to play with him before school starts. He goes into 2nd grade tomorrow...growing up faster than we think.

After I take dear Sarah back to college tomorrow I am planning on returning my focus to shop things and classes. Until later...KEEP STITCHING ALL>>>

PS>>>Thank you God for sparing New Orleans this time. My prayers and heart go to all affected by the fury of Gustav. May the remaining storms peeter out and cause no harm. !!
